When it comes down to picking a wedding theme for a special day, there are so many to choose from and it can be exhausting for the bride and groom to come to a decision with all the ideas and inspiration popping up on the World Wide Web, recommendations from friends and much more. To make things easier for the bridal couple, we have compiled some top wedding themes that are ideal for decor as well as wedding invitation designs.

1. Beach

The beach is a greatly loved venue for wedding, and with it you will have many inspirations present. Use anything from the horizon and the sunset to the waves, the beach and the seashells to bring about a beautiful theme, for your special day and wedding invitations.

2. Chic

Being stylish and fashionable is an art maybe people endorse, and you can infuse this into your wedding invites and wedding themes elegantly. You can take sophisticated design elements, whether its modern or traditional and make it work according to your tastes and likes.

3. Country

From the soothing creams, browns and red of the earth, you get the country style and with it the rustic appeal, so many brides and grooms are so fascinated by. Bring together a great colour with an effect that will making it more authentic and appealing, such as antiquities and bring your styles out through your wedding day.

4. Floral

Floral themes can include many species, from roses, cherry blossoms, lilies that are delicate to orchids, frangipani which is tropical and exotic to bring together a style that best suits your personalities. With floral theme, you can find yourself with photographic or illustrated wedding invites, which are both beautiful on their own and together.

5. Romantic

We are all romantics at heart, no matter how hard we try to hide it from others and it is okay for it to show, especially on your one big day. Find what appeals to you in regard to romanticism from your venue, the flowers you have chosen or even something you both cherish dear to your hearts and make it work.

6. Vintage

Many say that ‘old is gold’, and it has never been truer than with vintage design elements, especially when they are infused into your big day. From the choice of venue that has a Victorian feel to it, or even the effect you want for your wedding invitation, find your inspiration by visiting such places or perusing through various artefacts and books on vintage art and decor to find the right look for you

A continuation of Wedding Dress Inspired Wedding Invitation Designs, we bring you more invite designs that are reminiscent of the beautiful wedding dress the bride will wear down the aisle. Previously, we highlighted designs of wedding invitations such as brocade, floral accents and lace borders, with options made available by DreamDay Invitations that fits the bill. In this article, we do the same with the likes of ornate designs, pleats and line designs, damask, as well as black styles and a mixture of designs that can go well together.

Ornate Designs are generally considered intricate, with complex patterns or are heavily ornamented. If you are planning a rather luxurious wedding, then this is the best fit for you and your wedding dress inspired wedding invite. The likes of Embossed Wedding Dance hold two designs, one that is embossed whilst the other intricate design is found in silver. Another example offered by DreamDay Invitations is Vogue, which has an intricate and ornate design in its border.

Damask is considered an ornate design by default but has a distinct shape and pattern, which clearly sets it apart. This rich design and pattern is usually found in fabric and is a superb choice of design that can be found in a lace wedding dress. Wedding invitation design includes the likes of Crown Damask and Heirloom Pride.

Mixture of Designs is quite trendy nowadays, where you mix varying designs together to bring a great balance of fusion. One such example is through Silk Cascade where elements of stripes and damask fuse to a great balance.

Intricate Glimmer is also seen in wedding dresses where you take an element of sparkle and infuse it into your dress design for a touch of pizzazz. You can carry that forward in your wedding invite with foil printing such as that done in Grand Caress.

Pleats and Lines are essentially stripes, with depth and highlights. You can accessorise with items such as pearls and beads to form the pattern, which has been used on your dress. An example of such a wedding invite with accents of pearls included in the design is Ageless Treasure by DreamDay Invitations.

Black has quickly become a favourite for brides, using it as a great way to add a contrast piece or element to their wonderful wedding dress. Like so, you can do the same by adding such accents such as in Timeless Tulle.

These are all ways in which you can draw inspiration from your wedding dress and reflect it on your wedding invitation. However, it is important to have found your wedding dress before you get started on your invites if you want it to be so.

The most important day of your life is approaching. Yes, you are getting married, and it is a day you will remember for the rest of your life. So, why shouldn’t you make that one special day memorable in so many ways. You can do so by making your wedding invitations beautiful with the help of intricate designs and choice of typography you use on the invitation design.

Some people say that simple and wild, being two contrasts, will go well together, and I agree. There are ways in which you can make a design, whether it is for the wedding invitations, to the Save the Date cards and other wedding stationery really beautiful, by using both styles in a harmonious balance that you end up with a masterpiece.

Let us say you have chosen an intricate design, such as filigree as the design element that will be used throughout the wedding, from the save the date cards to the wedding invitations and then the wedding stationery on the big day itself. The way you keep to the style itself is by adding text in a typography that is elegant and neat, because the filigree design will take up the border while the clean text will balance the equilibrium perfectly. Likewise, if you opt for a simple design, such as that of a striped border, or even a chevron design with smooth and clean lines, you could opt for a font facing that is elaborate and whimsical. Even with no design, on a blank canvas, you can do the same thing, and let the text typography of your wedding invitation convey the story.

Wedding design elements usually include vector drawings especially if you are opting for intricate ones. The styles itself will be dependent on the theme you have chosen, from the likes of retro to floral, vintage that can include Roman, Grecian, Romanesque, baroque and so much more. Damask, filigree, toile are also favourites, but we should not forget simplistic designs such as chevron, polka dots, lines or stripes and so forth. The font you use, or rather the typography were once limited to serif and san serif. With san serif, you open a door to many possibilities, once being script, which has many faces and styles that are linked to calligraphy. Calligraphy plays a big role in wedding invitations along with typography, and your choice of style can actually set the tone of your wedding, from fun and casual to formal but fun. Try out several samples of wedding invitation design to visually decide on what you want before you order your wedding invites, to be on the safe side.

As a bride, you might have dreamed of this day for quite some time, discussed what you wanted for your special day with your sisters or even your best friends over the years. This warm and loving occasion should be a beautiful one, and a pink wedding with pink wedding invitations, pink decor and attire for the bridesmaids, will definitely set the tone.

When you think of pink, you might have already have a particular shade in mind, but that is not just what pink is about. Pink comprises of many shades, hues and tones that can make or even break a design element, where many people do not realise or know about. Selecting which tone is right for you, your vision for your wedding and one that your fiancé will agree to can take some thought and time.

Lighter Tones

The colour of choice for your wedding invitations would also depend on the theme you choose. Most couples will assume that a pink wedding invitation would have a floral theme, but really, it need not be so. There are many wedding themes such as contemporary to vintage classics provided you select the right hues, shades and tones of pink. Soft colours of the lighter shades of pink would be ideal if you are trying to create a soft look to your wedding decor or even wedding invitations. If you want contrasting or bold design elements to your special day, then brighter or darker tones of pink would be apt, maybe with design elements such as hearts would be ideal, especially if the special day falls on Valentine’s Day.

DreamDay Invitations has a great range of pink wedding invitations for your choosing. Make sure you browse through all the available options, or even opt for a DIY wedding invitation kit, for your dream day wedding.

Your wedding dress could very well be the most important design element of the wedding day for the bride, with the big unveiling of it when walking down the aisle. This week we bring you wedding invitations designs inspired by your choice of wedding dress. This way, the invitees will instantly think of the wedding invitations when they see the bride walking down the aisle in her beautiful bridal dress. Wedding dress trends change every year, but the certain design elements stay constant and can be spotted in new designs that are making waves in the industry. With such wedding design elements, we will bring you some insight into how you can gather inspiration from your wedding dress and then use it for your wedding invitation design.

There are many beautiful dresses out there, and the varying design elements are many. We will discuss a few of them and offer you wedding invitations from DreamDay Invitations that reflect it and are ideal choices for your big day.

Brocade is known as a rich decorative design that is often made with silk coloured thread, usually gold or silver when it comes to the wedding dress. When it comes to your wedding invite design, DreamDay Invitation’s Love Stencil would be ideal, in silver or gold, or even foil printing depending on how glamorous you want it to be.

Floral accents are usually found on wedding invites, because no wedding would be complete without flowers. However, some brides prefer to have some floral accents on their wedding dress and like so, you can find a similar design on the invite design as well. Something along the lines of Rose Splendour that features roses, Dandelion Dusk that features tiny dandelion balls in a beautiful design, and many more floral wedding invitations available in the collection.

Lace Borders are beautiful on any piece of apparel, if they are done just right, and you can follow the same theme here, with using lace elements on your wedding invitations design and creating an enchanting look. There are many lace designs out there, so finding the right one would be based on your preference. Crest of Love is one such type of lace element wedding invite, which has pointed scallops whilst Fantasy and Cloud Nine are more rounded and intricate.

In our next article instalment of Wedding Invitation Ideas, we will bring to you more options of Wedding Dress Inspired Wedding Invitations Designs, which include the likes of ornate elements, pleats and lines, damask, smooth textures and a mixture of varying elements that make up beautiful art. Stay tuned and Happy New Year to all!

With the Fall season dawning on Australia between the 1st of March and 31st of May, if you are planning on hosting your wedding in that season, then your decor will most likely be inspired by the colours and wonders of fall. Therefore, in this instalment of Wedding Invitations Ideas we bring you “Wedding Invitation and Ideas for Fall Weddings”.

Colours for a Fall Wedding

Popular colours for fall or autumn weddings include bold and dashing hues and tones, such as Burgundy, Dark Green, Navy Blue, Silver, Gold, Creams, Burnt Orange, Taupe, Brown and Plum. Utilising these colours in your wedding invitations and decor will make an elegant wedding element, one that will make a statement about your big day. Now that you have your wedding colours in mind, let us look at your wedding inspirations and accents, which you can use for your wedding invites and decor.

Inspirations

The season itself can act as an inspiration for your wedding, invitation and decor. These include the likes of leaves, acorns, cedar accents, apples, wheat and much more. Autumn is ideal for garden wedding, or even barnyard weddings, creating a homely feel in the decor. Other types of accents, which you can use, include the likes of fall flowers or even wild flowers, pumpkins and other fall vegetation and much more.

Romance is in the air as you count down the days to your wedding day. As soon as you figure out where you want to be married, your next thought is you need to invite your loved ones and friends. So, you get out a notebook and start making a list of everyone you want invited, but there is the question of the type of wedding theme you would like to have, and the only thing you can think of is that you want a romantic wedding. If that is what you want, then a romantic wedding, with romantic wedding invitation is what you will have. This article offers you some romantic inspirations that you can theme your wedding invitations after.

Fairytale Wedding Invitations

Ever since you were a child, having read or heard fairytales, you have always wanted to have a fairytale happy ending and now it’s coming true. You can have yourself a whimsical wedding, with the decor being extravagant yet in an elegant manner. Colour schemes can range from soft peach hues to pink, orange, blue and even purple. Intricate designs of filigree or lace with tinges of foil printing such as Cascade Crest, Crest of Love or Moonlight Silhouette would make a lovely fairytale wedding invitation.

Valentines Wedding Invitations

Getting married on Valentines’ Day is definitely really romantic. What better way making a double celebration of a lovely day. You could use red, roses and hearts as your theme, and make it a beautiful day. Velvet Pearls and Elegant Hearts are lovely choices available through DreamDay Invitations.

Vintage Wedding Invitations

Bygone eras evoke such romance, hidden in the architecture to a beautiful ring or even a handheld fan that was passed down through generations. Ruffle through some old pictures, take a walk through the city and find beautiful building left behind or even an old movie and jolt your inspiration forward for a vintage wedding. Invitations could include the likes of Cupid’s Kiss and Chandelier Impression.

Floral Wedding Invitations

Bestowing flowers upon someone is such a romantic gesture, and flowers are vital in weddings, for the bouquet to the wedding decor. There are many flowers to choose from depending on what you will be featuring at your big day, you can use them on your wedding invitations as well. Roses are favoured among many, but the likes of Orchid are uncommon and quite lovely to look at and romantic. Have a look at Framed White Rose and Orchid Obsession for your wedding invitations.

Shakespearean Wedding Invites

Shakespearean times or rather Elizabethan times are wonderful as they evoke a sense of majestic elegance that is ideal for a wedding theme. When it comes to design elements take into account floral accents, to regal borders and gold etching. Renaissance Kiss or even Grand Caress would be ideal for this type of wedding.

One of the hardest things to do is figuring out whom to invite for your wedding day and then sending those wedding invitations. In this installation of Wedding Invitations Ideas, we will be featuring people whom you have to invite and those whom you can opt out of with due reason. This might make your guest list-deciding factor an easier task. Firstly, you have your must have attendees on your big day.

Family – Your immediate family is anyway a given. The first thing anyone does when taking into account family event is count your own family in the list of invitees. You need not send your family wedding invitations, but count them within your guest list. This way you can save a little on your budget.

Relatives – Your extended family is necessary, and it is common courtesy to invite them. If you opt out to invite them, you might face issues later on and you could do without the agony of it all, so make sure to not leave anyone out.

Close Friends – Your closest friends might have been there for you and with you through thick and thin, therefore you might not see yourself getting married without them present.

Figuring out whom to invite and sending out your wedding invitation is tough mainly because you have a budget and a maximum number of guests allowed at your venue, and trying to fit your loved ones into that list can be a daunting affair. So let us figure out how we can make this wedding planning task easier. Here we are listing down some guest probabilities you can opt out of and optimize your wedding budget.

Childhood Friends – you may have made wedding plans ever since you were small and promised them they will be at your wedding, but if you haven’t seen them in ages and have not kept in touch or vice versa you might want to give preference to others. Who knows if your old friends even remember this pact? Choose wisely, a guest list is precious.

Second Cousins – Your extended family does not always include your second or third cousins, and if you do not even know them, it is okay for you not to reserve space for them in your wedding guest list. You can save your wedding invitation for somebody else.

Great Aunts and Uncles – The same consideration that applies to your second cousins applies here as well. If you do not know them, and they do not know you, then it’s a wedding invitation saved.

Kids – Kids are not the always fans of long boring yet romantic events such as weddings and may cause some commotion or another during your vows. It might be awkward. Therefore, if you want a mess free and upbeat wedding, you can opt not to have kids at the wedding. It is up to you.

Non-mutual Friends – When you are going out, you always had your own friends, but sometimes those circles combine between yours and your fiancé’s, and you tend to hang out with them more than you do with people who aren’t. You can figure out whether you want to invite your non-mutual friends to your wedding, but only if you want to.

Non-So-Friendly Friends – Everyone has that friend who is not always friendly and gets on your nerve or on your fiancé’s nerve. It is true, it happens, and this could cause a dent in the happiest day of your lives. So, think carefully whether you would want someone like so at the biggest event of your lives.

Exes – if you do have exes, you might want to save them the awkward moments of seeing their former lovers walking down the aisle with somebody other than them. If you are on good terms with them, then it might not be an issue, but as a rule of thumb, exes do not always make the wedding guest list cut.

Friend’s Families – your friends are your family, some would say, but when it comes to their own families, they may not have made a huge impact in your life and they would not make a fuss if they were not invited. If these friend’s families have acted like your own family, then they are your extended family and an invite may be the best way to go about it.

Co-workers – many people debate on whether you should mix business with pleasure, or bring your work home. So, in the same way, decide whether you would want to include your work friends in your personal life and on your big day.

In last week’s article of Wedding Invitation Ideas – “The Do’s of Wedding Invitations”, we brought you insight into what you should keep in mind when planning and designing your wedding invitations. In this week’s instalment, we bring you what you should not do when it comes to wedding invitations, and points to be mindful or have noted.

Don’t Include Too Much Information On The Invite: Your wedding invitation should be short and concise, whilst providing all the necessary information. Things that you should always include in the wedding invite are the date and time of the ceremony and the reception, the venue, invitees, the RSVP details, and dress code.

Don’t Forget To Use Inserts Maps: While accommodations and directions information is not always mandatory, your guests will appreciate it. Therefore, its considered polite and a nice gesture to ensure that guests will be given options of accommodation if they are coming out of town, and directions to get to the venue.

Don’t Include Registry Or Gift Information: Including registry or gift information on the wedding invitations itself is somewhat ‘tacky’ and not elegant and classy, which is what an wedding invite should be. , the best place to include that kind of information is with the shower invite

Don’t Have A Standby Guest List: It’s generally considered rude to have a secondary guest list, in the event a number of people RSVP back with their regrets. Since the wedding invitations for that crowd will have to be sent out after the RSVPs are received, in this case the standby guest list invitees will be notified or note that they are last minute slots.

Don’t Use Labels On Envelopes: Pasting on printed labels can be the opposite of elegant. After putting in so much time and effort into the wedding invitation, it would be a waste to make it less elegant with a printed white envelope label. It is best to handwrite them, or simply have them printed on the envelope itself, as DreamDay Invitations does on all their envelopes.

Don’t Write Anything On The Envelopes Once It Is Sealed: Sealing the envelopes and then later handwriting the address information might make the whole writing experience and quality of the handwriting deter drastically. Therefore, handwrite the address information prior to sealing the wedding invitation envelope. If you opt to have the information printed onto the envelope as DreamDay Invitations does, then this will not be a problem.

Don’t Email Any Information: Though some consider it a good idea to send the save the date information via email, it lessens the effect of sending out a wedding invitation itself. When it comes to the wedding invite information, please opt out of emailing invitees the details.

Don’t Forget To Include The Dress Code: many people don’t think too much about the dress code, but it’s very important to include this information, for either the bridal couple to ensure everyone is appropriately dressed so that their wedding pictures come out well and also for the invitee to not feel conscious of themselves they are not dressed accordingly.

Don’t Use Too Many Abbreviations: The use of abbreviations is related to wedding invitation etiquette. Unless it is the likes of Mr., Mrs., Dr and Jnr., you should limit the use of abbreviations. The article on Wedding Invitation Etiquette will offer you more insight on what you should keep in mind.

Some say weddings are considered some of the best organised events that happen on a regular basis, and making sure that things continue to be so, many wedding specialists have noted certain things you should do and also certain things you should not to. Like so, Wedding Invitation Ideas has come up with some insight into the Dos of Wedding Invitations for you to keep in mind.

Give Yourself Plenty of Time with the Wedding Invitations: One of the first things you do when you have decided to get married and settled on a venue is send out your wedding invites. However, as it is the first introduction, it should be one that gives off a good impression, therefore spend some time thinking about the theme of the wedding, how the design related to other elements and make it aesthetically pleasing.

Be Organised: organised yourself and your wedding invitations. Have a plan and decide how your wedding invitations bundle will be presented, especially if you have accompaniments such as maps, accommodations and reply cards.

Get Help: Find people who can help you with the various tasks involved in getting your wedding invitations ready. It can sometimes be overwhelming and a fresh set of eyes can sometimes spot things that you might have overlooked.

Guest List: The guest list is very important, as that is the final list of whom you want to invite. However, getting the names and titles right is also very important, down to the spelling and how it is presented in terms of wedding invitations etiquette.

RSVP Your Guest: If RSVPs have not been received before the deadline that was specified in your wedding invitations, attempt to contact them to confirm their attendance, as it might cause issues on your special day if you have not accounted for certain guest who had not RSVPed but did show up for the wedding.

Save The Date Cards: If you are sending save the date cards, include postage feeds in the wedding invitations budget as it is in the same family of stationery. Your save the date cards are often the from the same design theme of the wedding stationery you are planning to use.

Important Information: Include the venue information, timing of both ceremony and reception, with the hour of the ceremony clearly mentioned as a formal note.

Have Contingencies: Order an approximate of twenty invites extra in case mistakes are made or you wish to expand the guest list.
